i just want to make sure i am getting everything i need.
all i would need is a distributor cap and the rotor right? along with spark plug wires and spark plugs obviously.

is there anything else that goes in the distributor cap and rotor?
i am getting the MSD Cap+Rotor set and don't want to have to get something else at a later time. might as well buy it now.

and how is MSD vs. OEM in the dist. cap and rotor area?

There's the normal cap and then there's the one for using an external coil.

I believe honda-tech has a write up about OEM vs MSD. From what I can remember most people lost power switching from OEM setup with OEM wires to the MSD setup with aftermarket wires. Why upgrade anyway since the oem ignition can handle 400++ hp?

see that's what i heard about the spark plug wires but didnt know about the cap and rotor.
if that's the case i need to debate what to upgrade.
eitherway, i don't know if i have an OEM or a cheap aftermarket one as when i first bought the car, GoodYear were the people to do that tune up. that was before i knew anything about cars.
