Re: My complete audio install (56K warning) ***update amp rack 6/5/11
just wanted to post some updates to my install. Also wanted to throw in my new amp rack that I just made with how i went about it.
got my head unit working! paid Alpine $90 to repair (totally worth it for this unit)
made ROUGH template for amp rack to go against the backseat
here is the cut out on 1/2" MDF. 3/4" was pretty heavy and after going back and forth on what type of wood and thickness to use im happy with 1/2" MDF. Yeah, and i know shape of the rack could have been more symmetrical, but whatevers...
here it is carpetededed. got a yard of gray carpet for $7 more than enough to cover this. save the rest for future projects.
not sure if anybody cares, but fyi i used this for adhesive. never used it before but it seems to hold up pretty good.
mocked up where to screw in my 2 amps, ground splitter, and distribution block and test fitted on the car to see if i might run into any issues. looked ok
equipment mounted down, time to wire it up!!!
here it is, wired and mounted to the back metal pieces. and RELAX! i cleaned up the wiring after i was done
here is a back shot, also to show where i bolted the amp rack too. I used 1" long bolts with washers and hex nuts on the other side.
done! sub box in! OMG i have cargo space now!!!
lastly i changed my battery terminals, nothing great
