My stock suspension question...

Just curious, I'm not sure if anyone has already made a thread about this, but every little bump that I go through (Drive way, speed bump, anything that I have to get over with my car) my suspension makes a click/thud sound. I'm not sure if that's the strut or shocks that is causing that. I've taken out the axle to look at it but there was nothing wrong with it. Boot was not torn or ripped. This has been happening since I had the car, but I the music is sometime so loud it doesn't even bother me anymore.

Just curious because the Koni's and GC will be going in this Thursday, I would like to think it's the stock suspension that is making the noise and not the axle or anything else.

id lift car and check all moving suspension parts, ball joints is what first comes to mind but it could be a number of things, cld be just something loose

Yeah, my cousin that helps me fix my cars said it might be my bushings, but he doesn't have the tools to lift my car up that high. He recommends me go check it out at another shop, but I don't wanna have them charge me for something that might be a little fix like a loose screw.

id invest in some jack and jack stands

walmart has a cheap set, they something ull use more than once, especially after a drop

Not the jack stands. Those big machine that lifts the whole car up.

You DO NOT need a hoist, to get your car up in the air enough to check things out. I bet only 2-3% of members here actually have access to a hoist whether at home/work. We all use a jack and jack stands.

So place the jack under the corner you want to lift and jack the car up maybe 1-2cm to take the load off but the tire still touching the ground, loosen your lug nut bolts one-two turns, jack up the car the rest of the way so the wheel is in the air, place jack stands under, rest car on jack stands and make sure they're secure and in the right spots, take lug nuts fully off, take wheel off and place under car about 10-20cm from the jackstand and inspect...

Thanks! I'll check that out before installing my new set up to see if it's the old stock suspension that is making that noise.

EDIT: I guess my cousin just wanted to make it alot easier for the both of it, so we can observe the whole underneath of the car.
