Looks Chinese, but I'm thinking more along the lines of something pretty common with a TERRIBLE front end conversion. You can see where the headlight is supposed to meet the fender.

Based upon the shape of the hood and fender where the headlight and corner light are supposed to be, and the body line going down the hood where it meets that heinous excuse for a grill, and the distance between the front of the front tire and the corner of the front bumper I'm going to make and educated guess and say 1st gen Impreza.
