Got a 2001 accord ex coupe w/f23a1 & auto trans (300,00miles) engine has blown headgasket and trans with severe slipping problems. Bought it for $500. Now its in perfect shape inside and out just needs a drivetrain swap.
Now I've done a crap load of searching so heres my main choices that I'd like to do since I have to replace both either go stock replacement and eventually turbo it with a t3/t4 Turbonetics 60trim and FMIC or swap to a H23a,auto trans and ECU (does the Euro obd2 ECU com with an immobilizer?) and then eventually turbo this one. Just going to be a daily driver play toy to keep miles off my new car. So some advice would be helpful from this vast knowledge pool! LOL

So if the f23a1 and h23a share very similar harnesses minus knock sensor and crank sensor pickup locations would it be possible to swap in the h23a,auto transmission, engine wiring harness and ecu from the euro version into mine so the wiring would already be correct for the distributor? since I want to keep obd2 and automatic.

Search the forums, there is wealth of information on that, Correct me if I am wrong but euro r is sub version of h22. Never heard of euro h23.

If you can get jdm h23a with automatic you would have to use the ecm that came along with it.

but ive heard about problems rerouting the ckp wires to the distributor seems to give off misfire codes and such so I was wondering if I have the complete swap w/ harness would it be in the best interest to use that harness instead of my f23a1 one since the jdm ecu is used to getting signal from the distributor?
EDIT----
Duh jdm wiring harness goes to the opposite side of the firewall-cant use unless lengthen:doh:

Ended up getting a extra clean H23a,auto trans, complete harness and PCF auto ecu all for $1175 shipped. I'll post some pics of car and swap stuff when it comes in on a new build thread....:happy175:

Personally id do an oem f23a swap the engines are dirt cheap and a guarantee that the manual trannys are cheap too! but thats only if youd like to do a manual swap which comes with alota work! but turbo f23's are fast as hell with low maintenance!!! jdm depo has 15+ f23's for 300-350 bucks and the will deliver right to your front door!

Personally I would swap that thing to a 5spd and either rebuild the F23 and turbocharge it or swap to the H23-vtec

I could have set you up with an h22 and manual transmission for dirt cheap but it seems you dont like manual trans. If you are going to boost it pay close attention to how you get that transmission on there because you will have to do it again
