this has happened to me..but in my case, the key hole for the door was fcuked so i couldnt stick my key in.

I came to the conclusion that my locking mechanism was stuck in the lock position. I even cut a hole in my door panel (after I removed the vinyl piece) and stuck my hand in and tried to move the rocker arm that disengages the lock...no go.

I had to roll the window down and where the slot is, insert a heavy duty flat head and break away at the locking mechanism...more specifically, the plastic piece. You'll have to replace it so make sure you go out and buy it first.

It's going to suck, but that was the only way i could get my door opened. good luck man.

This happened on my 91 Accord and on my 90 Maxima. On the Accord, I had to peel back the door panel as best I could and drill into the door to destroy the old latch mechanism. It was a HUGE pain in the azz. On the Maxima, I kept hitting lock/unlock. It finally caught and actually unlocked. I still had to take apart the door and replace the latch, but this was much easier with the door open.

So if you sit there for half an hour hitting lock/unlock and you get no luck, I'm afraid you'll have to do what I did to the Accord. A big hint though, remove the driver seat so that you can pull the door panel back farther.

I just took a look at my door and saw that the aft section of the door panel can be peeled back with the door closed. With that peeled back you should be able to peel back the plastic material behind th panel. With a mirror and flashlight you should be able to see the lock mechanism.
