need help...

so for some reason my brakes aren't working electronically.

what i mean is i have no brake lights and i can't put my car in gear by pushing the brake then the button on the shifter.

everytime i drive, i have to push a golf tee in the little hole next to the shifter to put it in gear.

also i have no cruise control or no horn.

i have no blown fuses.

i put my hid kit in not too long ago if that might make a difference.

any ideas guys?

Also what couldve happened is with eletrically controlled brakes if your ABS electronic control module gos out your brakes will not be electronically controlled anymore.

Or

A. there is no signal from the brake switch that you are pushing the brakes, or no signal from the ignition switch that the key is in or
b. the linkage between the shifter and tranny is busted or something inside the tranny

there is nothing electronic that keeps the car from coming out of park other than the brake switch. From that point on, its mechanical. If your brake switch gos out it will mess up ur cruise control and u will not have brake lights.

I'm guessing u use a golf tee to hit the shifter release button on ur gear shifter to switch gears

What I mentioned in my previous post with the electronic brake switch will in fact mess up ur cruise control.

I had the same problem its a $50 dollar brake light switch whitch screws behind the brake pedal it can be done yourself
