Even with a crazy offset u shouldn't b rubbin anywhere @ stock height. What is the offset on ur rims any way?

Edit I've had a set of 205/50/17s n now have a set of 205/45/17s I liked the look of the 50s better but even they only rubbed when I turned up a driveway

How in the hell are you rubbing at stock height with 225/45's?? That makes so sense. Check your splash guards and bumper tabs. You should not be rubbing running those tires at stock height. I'm sure it is something simple.

It's good that you went with 225's because 225's look a lot better than 205s etc.

Ummm please elaborate how a 225/45 looks better then a 205/50...please??
Its a fawking tire made out of rubber that has a black side wall. What appeal do your eyes see in one and not the other? unless you're driving behind your own car and enjoy seeing the wider tires??

In addition...
-205/50 has a sidewall of 4inch, & keeps the speedo at 0.4% too slow.
...the same distance from suspension compared to oem
...sticks out 9mm closer to fenders compared to oem
...fill out wheelwell by an extra 2mm compared to oem

-225/45 has a sidewall of 4inch as well(golly so your eyes see no difference when looking at them from a profile view), and keeps the speedo 100% correct butttt
...11mm closer to suspension compared to oem
...sticks out 19mm closer to fenders compared to oem
...fill out wheelwell the same as oem

But of course some people in here prefer looks over functionality of course...

OP, pointless comments aside, shave your rear bumper tab and it should solve your problems unless your rear fender lips have rusted and deformed the metal causing it to bulge and make contact with the tires on dips/road imperfections etc.

wider tires look better on the big body accord. Civics, smaller tire sure, accords look better with wider tires imo:beer:
