New to the accord and need help with ideas for a swap

hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a 2001 accord v6 coupe, but i would like to put a 5 speed in it myself since the ones ive seen have been beaten, on a scale of 1 - 10 how big of a project would it be, if it could be done on a budget of .... lets say 600 and what are options for transmissions.

The only 5spd you can put in your car is a 5spd auto from a 2G Acura TL/CL. If you want a manual, which is strongly recommended because Honda autos from these years are garbage, you have to go with a 6spd.

But fyi your current budget will not accommodate a transmission swap.

Redryder I asked in a different forum how much a tranny swap would be. Since you are one of the newest to go 6speed. I want to see how much it would run me. I plan on keeping the j30 for now and I plan on getting the tranny from an accord for cheap since someone I know works at a junkyard I told him to let me know as soon as an 03 accord comes through so i could buy the tranny.
