^As little as possible. I was just thinking coil over springs just to have a small difference.. I don't wanna drop it anymore than 2 inches right now.

Not really. The Tein Springs I found were 200. I am open to suggestions but i just won't be able to do it until I get back to work after being off for 3 weeks after having my son.

The reason he is saying that is because it is highly recommended to never pair lowering springs with OEM shocks, since they were not designed to operate in conjunction with anything other than stock springs. Meaning, you will be okay for a little while, but at some point your OEM shocks will blow.

It would be best to pair a set of aftermarket shocks with those lowering springs, or get a set of full coilovers, or go with a shock and coilover sleeve combination.

Congratulations on the baby, hope everything is on track. :)

So what's a good cheap pair of shocks that will last to go along with those Tein SKH94-AUB00 lowering springs? Or a cheaper solution to lowering them 2 inches

Well I hate to say it, but "cheap" and "suspension" don't really belong in the same sentence. This is one mod you want to do right the first time, because cheaping out basically will cost you more time and money down the road. If you are not in a rush to lower the car, I would say it's wisest to keep saving until you have enough for a decent setup.

If you are set on those Tein springs, you will want a set of shocks that offer height adjustability since the springs give the same drop front and rear. Reason being these cars come from the factory sitting higher in front than in back and if you lower it the same front and rear...you will what is called the "boat look". Or you could get a set of springs that give a larger drop in front than in rear, and get away with shocks that do not have height adjustability. The latter is likely cheaper.

So if it were me, I'd be pairing those Teins with Koni Yellows which have both adjustable perches and dampening adjustability. Koni has an annual sale in the spring which usually yields 15% - 20% off.

I think the "cheapest" option for you could be to buy a set of gently used coilovers.

Btw I would personally not pair lowering springs with KYB GR2's as they are essentially OEM replacement shocks.

Welcome to the site man!

Those red/clear LED tails are hot. Pretty underrated, IMO.

I am really not dead set on the Teins. I just knew they worked really good before. I am looking at around 550 at the most but if I can find a gently used pair that's would be good too.

Okay. With that budget I would look for new Tokico Blues or the like, and get a set of springs that give a larger drop in front, like H&R's, etc. Buying used springs is usually fine, but I wouldn't buy used shocks unless you are positive they haven't been beat on or have a ton of miles. Another nice thing with Yellows is they have a lifetime warranty so if one ever goes bad, free replacement. But doesn't sound like those are in the budget. Or like I said, gently used coilovers.

Keep your eyes on CL, Ebay, forums, etc...never know what may pop up.

You can find lightly used ff type 1's for a little less than that. They're a one piece coilover and the 6th gen standard for entry level slammage. Or in your case, a little lowering
