I bought new front rear and side engine mounts along with a tranny mount from rock auto for like 35 bucks shipped to my house. Why not spend a few extra and replace them while you are there

You're right. Thanks for the feedback Do you know how many mounts for the tranny I need to buy? I see rear, rear left, front, and right. I only have a small window of time from buying the parts and putting the transmission on. So, I'm kind of rushing. I don't want to make a mistake or buy parts I don't need. So, I'm kind of depending on people's feedback for helping me put it together quickly. Thanks again.:waytogo:

You've got two trans mounts. Both on the drivers side down low. At least my 99 Did. The front motor mount also sort of acts as a trans mount also. But mine were gone when I pulled mine out.

Thanks for your reply.:)

When a new transmission gets installed, does the front of the engine gets lifted as well? Or does it need to be lift? I just want to make sure it's not extra work for my mechanic to installed the front engine mount.

I found these on rock auto. Are you able to confirm if these are correct?

This was described as front left, VTEC:

This was described as rear:

This was described as front for engine mount:

That front engine mount is correct, but I wouldn't replace it unless you need it. I was saying the mounting bracket for that mount also has a bolt in the transmission, so it gives it some support. Other than that, those mounts look right. I'll give you an exploded diagram of the mounts.

Look at this link, number 2 and 3 are the transmission mounts.

On getting it out of the car, I took my entire engine and trans out all as one. You will probably find it easier this way, but it is possible to keep the engine in the car

Nice. Goodlooks on the info/diagram. I'll stick with the tranny mounts for now.

Thanks. I'm going to need it. Since I'm in such a hurry. lol.

How is your car after putting another transmission in?

btw, would you recommend a transmission cooler?

I swapped to a J32 6speed, so I don't have the auto anymore. As for a cooler, all it'll do is extend the life of the transmission. They all die out because of heat issues, or I've heard that a lot at least

Anybody else for a cooler? Getting the transmission in a couple of days. So, I'm trying to make sure I get everything. Also should i change my transmission mounts? My car is at 230000 miles. Won't really know the condition of the mounts until it is out.

Definitely do a cooler, along with flushing the built in cooler at the bottom of the radiator. While you're in there add an inline filter.
