That shift boot looks real nice. I want to help my cousin do somethin like that, he has a 4banger auto. Is there a thread about it? Also howd you paint over? do a little sanding then primer couple coats of NHBP and then some clear?

If he's got the 6th gen I4 4AT then he can definitely do the swap. Just get a shifter from a 2000-2003 CL/TL (type-s)...they're all the same. I think you can get it from the 98-99 TL as well. There's a DIY thread over @ v6performance that I started in the 6th gen section...should cover everything you need to know.

I actually dropped the trim pieces off at a local body shop that paints everything for my roommate and I and had him do it. He did a good job...the paint is holding up perfectly.

Twobit -- http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66537, should be all the info you need.

carfreak -- Take your door panels off and the trim pieces slide right out from the inside...seriously. Then you just gotta unscrew the window switches and all that stuff...I also took out the handles (they screw in too). Now with just the trim pieces and no buttons or switches...you can do whatever you want to them. I had them painted @ a shop because I wanted the flakes in the paint like the real NHBP. If you just wanna do black...I think krylon has an interior trim paint. Get the glossy stuff and also hit it with some primer before you paint and a couple of layers of clearcoat after you paint.

Engine doesn't matter...transmission does. If you've got a 6th gen (coupe or sedan, V6 or I4) with a 4AT...then the swap will work.

How is it holding up? My car came with factory silver, which i like, but i was thinking about doing the console gloss black. If i did that, i'd probably do all the trim that is silver black. I was just wondering if your's is getting scrached up or anything,
