Hey so i went to take the car out my parking spot and bring it around the back to wash it. and when i went to go put the car into reverse.. it wouldn't go into it. I have a 98 honda accord v6 6spd swap. reverse did work when i came out of the parking spot i was in! so i dont' know what the hell happened! you guys think maybe it could be the master cylinder gone bad? i bought a used one..

any help would be appreciated!

p.s. the car still pulls hard in every gear.. and catches them all! except reverse!

There is probably something wrong inside the tranny if all the other gears work fine. Maybe the reverse shift fork being belt or something.

sometimes my i4 5speed wont go in reverse when im parked somewhere. but if the car moves like an inch, itll usually go right in. i dont think theres anything from with my car, just something that happens time to time. i know reverse isnt synchronized, so i just blame it on that :lawl:

^ There's a TSB on that... hard to go into 1st and reverse. The splines on the clutch disc aren't lubed or the grease dried up. Mine does it too.

OP, something is wrong internally and it probably needs a rebuild.

haha oh well. i need a new clutch anyway. the only time it ever is "hard" to get into first is when it starts getting cold outside and before the car is warmed up.

well i had reverse earlier today before i went out.. came back home.. and didn't have it.. i had to push the car into a parking spot..lol luckliy the accord isn't that hard to push..

this is soo weird. i hope it isn't anything serious.. cause i already have a new clutch.. it has to be a section somewhere where it's not letting me get into reverse..

Is it not letting you shift into reverse or you shift into reverse and it won't go anywhere?

I start manual trannys at school this week, hopefully I can give you some insight before the semester ends.

Hmm... could be an issue with reverse lockout and/or reverse shift fork and/or reverse shift sleeve.

AllData doesn't much diagnosis info for an 05 Accord 3.0 6spd or CL-S 6spd

I know the 5spds have a TSB on lubing the splines on the driveshaft so the clutch disc can slide. If you don't, it makes shifting into 1st or reverse a *****.

Try putting your car in first and immediately into reverse, sometimes it works.
