If you read my other thread you know that I had no oil pressure after changing the oil pan on my car. It turns out that the oil filter I bought was bad right out of the packaging. I replaced it and the car starts up and the oil pressure light does not come on. However, I think I ran the car too long with no oil pressure:sad: It makes a funny tapping noise. I'll try to record it and post it later. What should I be looking into next?

Or... you could wander on over to the DIY valve adjustment thread and adjust the valves to spec and see if the ticking goes away.

You valves are tapping.
You can use some Lucas oil treatment. YOu can use the full bottle in place of one quart of oil
You can also use some STP oil treatment.
But eventually you'll have to have the valves adjusted.
Honda's are known for valve tapping

Hey, I thought valve tapping was normal for 4cyl hondas? lol

Not normal, but I haven't found a high mileage 4 banger that doesn't do it. Haha

Just get your valves readjusted, then you will have no tapping no matter how many miles you have. For a temporary fix, use the oil treatment.
