OEM lug nuts with aftermarket rims

what does each number mean, cuz the tire thats already on one of my rim has a pretty low profile tire and i kinda dont want it that low

okay the first set of numbers are the width in mm. so a 205/40/17 is 205mm wide.

next is the middle number. this is the side wall height. it is measured as percentage of the width. so 40 is 40% of 204mm.

last is the rim size. 17 in wheel.

each if the two tire sizes I suggested are a near perfect match to a factory size tire diameter. and will not be as low of a profile as what you have now.

sorry im a noob at this cuz i always bought tires that were already on my stock steelies, but since u said 205mm is the width of my rims/tire or thats already on my rim, how would a 215/50/17 or a 225/45/17 fit since the width of those measurements are larger

and i just looked at the back of the rims and is says 17x7 JJ. is that te size of the rim

the first number is the width of the tire only.

both of those tires will fit a 7" wide rim with no problem. Which is what you have. I'm personally running a 225/45/17 on a 17x7 myself.
