So I'm planning on changing the OEM radio for something else with AUX.

Now i'm noob when it comes to this so I'll need your help guys.

What's a cheap replacement (but not unreliably cheap ie. china quality)?

What's a decent replacement?

What's a good replacement?

Will the new radio last if I plan to upgrade to subs/amp set up?

As for budget, I'm not so as I still have school related stuff to pay for before grad.

I want one that'll look simple. Nothing too fancy and flashy :)

Thanks in advance

Just get a name brand that's in your budget. They're meant for an amp, they have preamp outputs on the back.

So just get whatever looks good to you. It's not necessarily a science.

^^^^ agreed..i went with a double din touch screen because i wanted to have a touch screen but just get a radio that you like and fits your needs. You dont need a sub and amp if u like the sound in your car..in terms of brands you can go for pioneer if you like high end stuff...

Stop by your local specialty shop and see what they've got. They can help you make an informed decision since spending a little more or less now could mean alot or a little spent in the future. Look at the big picture of what you want in the long run and buy according to your budget. Don't go too cheap or you may regret it in the long run.

Buy anything off crutchfield, and you'll be fine. They don't sell super ****ty ****. There is some ****, but its not the worst ever.

What's considered a cheap stereo?

Also, are the big names alpine, kenwood and pioneer?

Ah forgot about the edit feature. Sorry guys.

So it came down to these selection. I have to mention that I decided that i'll just upgrade for a better head unit when I decide to get amp and subs installed. As of now, I want a good head unit with ipod/iphone feature where I can change songs via the phone and not the unit (due to limited display etc)

This one is discontinued. Any idea where I can grab one? Seems like people have very good experience with it.

Need your input on this one guys. I might take this if it's good enough.

This one is a little expensive IMO. But again, simple design wins
