Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all San Diego Parks and Beaches. ( unless permit is obtained )

There were city park worker and a police cruiser driving around the park last time we were there. I would advise against bringing beer but if you did please make sure you are not seen in pubic with it and please do not share with underage members.
