Hi everyone, I have a Honda Accord CG5 2002 and I love her. I have completed an automatic to manual transmission swap, but I'm having some issues with the ECU and I need help. I'm from Asia, so English isn't my first language—my wording might be a bit odd, but I’ll try my best to explain.
After installing the manual transmission, I fixed the vehicle speed sensor issue, but the AT ECU is limiting me in 5000 RPM. So I bought an MT ECU from eBay. The process was a bit challenging, but it was worth a try. Its EPC is 37820-PAA-A04.
After it arrived in my country, I had someone reprogram the ECU. He mentioned that he bypassed the immobilizer and removed the security lock. I was able to start the engine, but it now shows a P1607 trouble code and goes into limp mode—I can’t rev past 3000 RPM.
Could this be a programming error? He didn’t mention anything about the VIN. Do I need to write the original car’s VIN into the ECU, or did I get a faulty MT ECU? Does anyone know what might be causing this?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks a lot!
