Re: Need opinions on white paint

Yea both quarter glasses will be coming out. Glass guy said $80 to take out both and put them back in which is half the normal price of $160, but we have a tool here to do it so im just gonna do it myself and save some money.

Plus I have to reattach my door skin to the inside door frame lower bar because somehow they are not attached anymore.

Front and rear window glass doesnt have to come out. The only windows that are recommended to take out are the quarter glasses because they are more prone to leaving a hard line.

Front and rear we use this special blue 3M tape that has one hard edge on it which is about 1/4" thick and you put that down under the moldings and weather strips and it pulls them back so paint can be sprayed underneath them. When everything is done, untape it and the moldings/weather strips fall back to place and no hard lines are ever seen.

So the car is painted... Roof is black with pearl mixed in (balloon white pearl)

The body of the car itself is all painted, all plastic pieces and moldings have been repainted satin black as well to give it a fresh look. Got brand new fresh tags to go along with the fresh paint.

Tomorrow we are finished up the car like painting the bumpers and rockers and the mirrors. I cant wait to see this all together and in the sunlight!

Prep work looks good. Looking forward to the pics.

How many layers of primer/paint/clear?

I'm curious why it looks like they're priming it in sections?

Looking forward to the final results!

How many layers of primer/paint/clear?

On the bad ding spots, there are 3 layers of mud, and around 5 coats of primer.

Paint wise, there is 2 coats of sealer, 4 coats of base, 7 coats of the 2nd stage and 3 coats of high gloss clear.
