First off painting wheels will be best with no rubber on them.
Make sure you have all your supplies together.
blue painters tape 3/4 or 1" thick (will not leave adhesive residue and bends around curves better the thinner the roll.)
3M green scotch bright pad
tack cloth (for wiping away lint and dust)
1 can Bull Dog spray adhesion promoter
2 cans of spray paint of your color choice. (I used a krylon blue)
4 clean wheels
1 oven (yes I used an oven)
First make sure all your wheels are nice and clean and lint/hair free.
preheat your oven to 200 degrees. (lol)
mask off all areas you do not want painted or scratch/scuffed.
next lightly scuff all areas to be painted.
now wipe clean removing all dust and such.
now for the oven
bake wheel for 3-5 mins to heat the wheel
(paint sticks better to the heated metal and will be less prone to running)
spray the wheel with the bull dog with one good coat.
place back in oven for 5-10 mins
remove and now spray the paint with one good even coat.
place back in oven for 45-50 mins
this will flash out the paint quite nicely leaving almost no orange peel and a very smooth surface.
while the wheel is baking you can start the prep work on your next wheel.
once wheel is done baking remove from oven.
let cool and remove making once cool.
you should now have a really nice freshly painted wheel with a finish that should not peel or flake off.
