yep...i suck at photoshop...
I hate photoshop.
I hate browsing POTN because when people post pics, members ask what they did for PP, and they spew out a list of things.
If you have the talent, you know that you only use photoshop for exposure adjustments, dodging/burning, resizing, sharpening and white balance. (I might have missed a few)
I think anyone who wants to know if they're truly cut out for photography (and I'm directing this towards newcomers to the game, I've seen plenty of pics on here that disprove this point by the older members) you should try out a pre-electronic era SLR with black and white film, hand developed.
That is really the only way, although a little barbaric, to truly appreciate the art and how much talent there is in film photography, specifically black and white.
My point is, you can have the nicest dSLR on the planet, but if you have to go into photoshop to adjust lighting on your subject or fix things often, you're not all that great, even if you are considered a "professional" and make a career out of it.
Sorry about the rant, but photography these days is like 1/3 in the field and 2/3 behind the monitor these days. No one really has the appreciation for B&W and film and how freaking difficult it is to get the perfect shot and exposure in the same frame, not to mention develop it correctly later on.
So, pretty much props to you Ryan, lol, and anyone else who's at least taken a stab at film.
