At the light that you're probably going to be shooting, not really.

me personally id go with the one for 150 bucks :hihi:
you might just want to wait for others input though :lawl:

Does the cheaper lens have image stabilization? IS is actually very very useful, so that is another thing to think about.

One lens that is a TOTAL bargain and actually has damn good image quality is the Tamron 28-80mm lens, its like $70 brand new.

be like it is
that tamron lens is a piece of ****. i gave mine away on CL since it kept giving ERR99 (lens malfunction...gotta turn the camera off then on).

you'd be going to take a pic, hit the shutter for a half-press, frozen cam.

it was funny though...went to meet the dude i was giving it to...couldn't get the error to come back :lawl: and consequently, purchasing another tamron (besides the beastly old school ones) has never crossed my mind.

and i'll be honest...i bought the 28-105 f/4-5.6 version since i was without a lens (before i discovered manual lenses about 2 months later ;) ) and it's been sitting. i offered it to johnny for a good price. its not insanely sharp wide open, but what zoom lens under $100 is?

i'm sooooo spoiled with in-body SR :redface2:

I've used that Tamron lens a few times, and I've never been truly disappointed by it. For the price, it always seems to surprise me.
