i lol'd at "dirty power" :lawl:

and yeah, not only talking about ubuy, but arc doesn't really make anything. they say "we want x, we'll pay y, use z components" and then a build house puts the amp/drivers together. they put their name on it and charge a lot :lawl: same reason you can get a clarion amp with the exact same board for 1/5 the price of an arc...or an ID8 for like half the arc sub, because ID built them (well, not anymore).

the only reason to use 8s in the car is space savings. or if you want to brag about how small :)lawl:) your sub is, for some reason. an 8 can, in no way, play as low, at a similar volume, as a larger driver. to say otherwise would be like saying you can fly for a split second after jumping off the roof of your house...you can't defy physics.

Ii'm about to put 2 Sa-8's in my car.. Just trying them out to see how they sound and see what all the hype is about...If they don't sound the way i want, I'll probably pick up a sa-15 or a Aq SDC2.5 15.

Prob do a 2.5^3 tuned to 32hz.

Might as well get the 15"

It'll be cheaper than buying 2 8's and box size won't be that much bigger

be like it is
so long as you have stout mids up front, the 15 wont sound any different than the 8s...except it'll play lower, louder, with less power compression and excursion :lawl:

but if youre just going to listen to lil wayne or stupid bass "music" like that, it doesnt really matter what sub you use, since most of the "music" will be in the 30-60Hz region. that octave is super easy to do anyway...

Haha I actually don't listen to lil wayne. But yeah mostly hip hop, trance and pop. I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the 8's. GOnna be putting 1200 rms to the pair in a 1.2^3 @ 32hz.

Not true. I think aq and it's father company dd are crap compared to other underground brands.

Sundown amps are dirty power compared to arc? Don't you know that arc uses ubuy to build their amps? those same amps with the "arc" badge on them can be bought for MUCH MUCH cheaper.

For example, the vibe audio litebox and the arc audio mini's are the same amp in different cases.

One cost 169 for the 4 channel..the other cost 499

U went with entry level rockford over ssa op? smh
Yes, because I didn't want to spend that much money on the ssa subs right now.

OP, buy what sounds good to you, we all could recommend every sub known to man, and it would still come down to what sounds good to you and what fits in your budget.

The Punch line of RF subs, are not meant to be overworked, but they have improved somewhat. For what you seem to want for your build, I think those will meet your expectations. Eventually you may want to upgrade, but if you aren't entering competitions, and want a little bump while you're riding around, those will do just fine.

I do suggest you get/build the right box for them though, in order to maximize their potential.

Keep us posted with your build, there is always something to be learned from every project people undertake.

Depends on the type of rap you like.

I am more of an old school rap person, so stuff I suggest would actually be from the days when rap was quality, and the bass had purpose.

EPMD
BDP
Pete Rock/CL Smooth
WU Tang
some Biggie Smalls
Nas
Fugees (The Score), there are a couple of tracks that will put the speakers to work
Biz Markie
Tribe Called Quest

There are a few hip hop threads on here, to get some ideas of other artists as well.

Ok, I'll look for the other threads.
