I would never plasti dip a whole car..actually I would never plastic dip anything on my car, it creates a nasty rubber texture and it just peels easily.

hmm, thats odd...i plasti dipped my wheels, and theyre going strong with no peeling or anything. some people need to work on their prep skills apparently. i scrub the **** out of them with a very hard brush and theyve never peeled or anything, and they clean up quite well. the wheels arent anything special, which is why i used plasti dip instead of just getting them powder coated, i had originally just spray painted them and that didnt last for ****.

though, i wouldnt do a whole car in plasti dip, that would suck because the **** takes a while to dry and takes A LOT of coats to fully cover an area and come out right. a can of plasti dip definitely doesnt last as long as a can of normal spray paint either, so you need more of it than you would with normal paint, and plasti dip isnt exactly cheap either, especially since youd have to order it all off the internet and pay shipping. every home depot/lowes or whatever i went to only had a few cans of only black.

a prepped surface and thin layers is key for it to work right. i had sand blasted my wheels and cleaned them with rubbing alcohol before i started putting layers on. i hope you sanded the trim at least a little bit, haha.

To all those who say it will chip after a day:

Have you ever used plastidip?

Secondly, do I condone using it on you entire car?

NO! You'll look like a fool. My friend thinks it is cool on his Pontiac G8 GT his flat black racing strips and black plastidipped roof....no, just no...

Third, I plastidipped my wheels so I could see how flat black TL wheels would look on my car before I painted them permanently. I still have it on since I have gone back to my stocks for the winter and after a few months there is not a single chip. And these are on wheels remember, and they're just fine.

Plastidip is great. It's durable, and for the purpose I used it for, really helped me in deciding I really did not like the look of flat black, but for your whole car....

PLEASE DON'T DO IT! Plastidip only comes in flat colors, unless you use the clear coat and makes it look absolutely retarded because it's now semi-gloss plastic which isn't an improvement.

Hope this helps :)

I've used plasti dip on prepped and non prepped surfaces and the stuff never wanted to stay attached. For me, the durability was sub par to any other vinyl, interior, and exterior paint I've used.

been a year since I used Dupicolor white spray paint on my rims and not even one chip yet. I sanded those fckers down with a variety of grit of sandpaper.
