I am not sure. I have not had time to examine the part yet. I made time to get the job done today. Hopefully by tomorrow morning I will have some feedback as to what the cmc replacement did for me. I pray that it fixes the problem.

and make sure you bench bleed the master cylinder before you put it back in

Thanks for the input, Killawalk. Did you ever figure out which was the real culprit? The slave or the master? Or is this problem simply the grime that gets stuck in the lines? Oh ya, can you give me a detailed step by step on how to bench bleed? I read about on this forum on an older thread, but it seemed a bit confusing. Thanks, again!

to tell u the truth i change both i never knew which one it was i changed the slave cylinder first and it was working fine at first then did it Again 10mins later so i change the master cylinder another day..then i was trying to bleed the cylinder and i couldt get it so i brought it to the shop down the block and they bleed it for me but my mechanic told me i was was suppose to put oil in the master cylinder first since there so much air in it....but once u change both cylinders and bleed the entire system u should be good

OK guys, I finally finished the job, and here are my observations/opinions for anyone who has this problem in the future. When your car's clutch pedal starts to stick in the down position while your shifter is in a gear, and nd your car starts to slowly creep while sounding like it's going to stall, then it is purely a hydraulic issue within your clutch cylinder lines. Before anything, look for any leaks. Spray everything (clutch slave and master cylinder, and all hoses, and clutch fluid (which is brake fluid) reservoir tank). If there are no visible leaks, I would go still go in the following order. My first part replacement suggestion is to replace the clutch slave cylinder, as it is the easiest to replace. Then bleed the system (through the slave cylinder). If that does not work, move on to replacing the clutch master cylinder. If there are no signs of leaks, more than likely it is this peice, but it is moderately difficult to replace, as it is a ***** to install! Once you replace both cylinders, and find no leaks in the hoses, then your car's clutch line hydraulic problems will go away. I guess I am writing this up, because the whole time I was getting scared that it MIGHT be the clutch.

THESE SYMPTOMS DO NOT MEAN THE CLUTCH! As I've said before, I have driven plenty of cars until the clutch has gone out on me, and it never acted like this. Research the symptoms of a failing clutch, and you will see it is very different from the hydraulic problem. My car is now running great. I know that I will have to change the clutch soon, but I do not want anyone to confuse the two problems. I would hate for someone to do a complete clutch job, which is very difficult/time consuming, if they are simply having a hydraulic issue. Many people/mechanics were assumming this as my problem, as you could not see a leak.

Good luck to everyone, and thanks again for everything!

Ok guys, it is time for me to revisit this thread. I think I may have to eat my words of my last post. I am starting to have clutch related problems again. Very similar as to my last problem, but definitely not identical.

Currently, I feel pressure loss in my clutch pedal. If I hold the clutch pedal down, it slowly starts to loss pressue, and when I put it into gear, and start to release the clutch pedal, the clutch engages very soon, as compared to when I engage/disengage my clutch in normal driving fashion. I was started to experience this right before my last problem of this original thread. I am afraid that my clutch will start engaging into gear when I have the clutch pedal down.

I do not see any visible leaks, and I am not low on fluid. What triggered my knowledge of the problem was that a week ago, my clutch totally lost pressure, and I realized that all of my fluid leaked out. I could not find the leak, so I filled it back up, and degreased everything. A week later, there are still no leaks, but my clutch is starting to show signs of acting up (as described above).

Two months ago (when I originally posted this), I ended up replacing both the slave and master cylinders, and it did the fix, at least for two months.

Please, if there are any suggestions for me, I am all ears. I am more than willing to replace my clutch with a new kit, as I bought one the last time I was having problems (just in case), but I want to feel more secure that it will fix my mystery leak.

Oh ya, if I do not get any insight today, I will go forward to replace my master cylinder again, as the part has a warranty. Also, because the slave shows no signs of a leak. The master does not either, but it didn't last time, and that ended up being the problem. So, I'm hoping it was just a bad O'Reilly aftermarket part. I hate to waste more time and labor on a part I already replaced, but I do not want to have my car out of commission for over a week when I plan to replace the clutch. What do you guys think?
