Is it just me or does anybody else go through this?

First off, I live just outside of Detroit, the motor city, American muscle, home of the big three. I live even closer (less than one mile away) to Dearborn, the home of Fords and kind of close to Taylor, which is full of lifted trucks.

Of course I drive an Accord, which gets a lot of bashing for it being an import :lawl: Everybody automatically classifies it as a "ricer" since it's a Honda.
They usually shut up when they realize that my car has twice the miles with half the cost to own as their brodozers and stupid loud Mustangs.

Anyways, it seems that my car attracts a lot of attention, mostly unwanted attention, specifically from law enforcement. More specifically, Dearborn cops.

I started driving in June 2011 in a rusty Ford Escort, then in the Accord in August. Since then, I've been pulled over six times. Once in Allen Park, my city, while doing 65 in the Escort in a 35. Was going uphill and a cop happened to be going the other way. He gave me a talking to and let me off with a warning since I just started driving and had a clean record. That was the only time in the Messcort.

Another time was in Detroit a few blocks down Woodward from campus. Was with some friends and ran a yellow on the way to a show. Cop let me off with a warning since I had a clean record. :lawl:

Another time, was in idiot and ripped the ebrake in some snow in a parking lot out by Central Michigan with some buddies. Cop watched me the whole time and waited for me to get on the road. He said "Little fast through the parking lot eh?" Got let off with a warning, again for having a clean record. :lawl: :lawl:

Now, all the other times were in Dearborn where cops are asshats.

Once was my fault, I had stuff on me that I shouldn't have had and my car got impounded and I spent the night in jail.
After the whole thing and when I was on my way to the jail, he said he pulled me over since my windows were tinted. I thought that wasn't a moving violation and you can't be pulled over strictly for that?

I work as a pizza delivery driver at a real old family owned pizzeria in Dearborn, which tons of people from the city eat at and half worked at.

Was turning onto a main road from a side street and a cop was doing the same, only from the opposite way. We made eye contact and he got behind me, but another car was between us. I see the cop going side to side in the lane trying to see around the other car. He turns on his lights and flies around the car and pulls me over. Finds out I'm working and says "uhhh just get your mirror fixed when you have a chance."
Passenger mirror is busted but that's not required by law. I also had a wink mirror at the time lol. He probably pulled me over since I didn't have an exhaust either but he didn't say anything about that.

Another time, at work, I do a turn around and cop pulls me over. Says my windows were tinted and I didn't have my lights on. It was summer, 7:00 pm, and my parking lights were on. He gets a call and lets me go.

This time I wasn't actually pulled over. I was driving back to my work and see a cop pulling up behind me. I roll down the windows so I don't get harassed for tint. He reads my plates and pulls beside me and eyes me down. He gets a little ahead and I get behind him since the turn around is coming up. He sees me turn and he makes a huuuuge turn across all the lanes through a do not enter turn. I figure I see what's up so I go real slow down the alley behind work. In my rear view I see him almost pass the ally, slam on the brakes, back up, and fly down the ally. I'm getting out of my car as he pulls up and says "oh you're working" I say "uhh yeah what's wrong"
"oh nevermind..." I ask for his badge number and he takes off.

Now, last week I installed my short ram. Took it for a spin and pass a cop that has somebody pulled over missing a headlight. He's going back to his car as I pass. I do a turn around, then make a quick right down a street. He's already on my *** as I make a turn around, to another turn around onto Telegraph. He pulls me over right away.
He get's my license and registration, then asks if I've ever been pulled over. I say yeah, for possession, but that's all done and over with. He asks if there's anything in my car, I say no. He asks if he can search it. At this point I'm like if there's nothing in my car, why should you search it? But I don't wanna be a dick and have him try to find another reason to give me a ticket so I say sure, search it.
I sit in his car and watch him search it, he doesn't find anything. He asks where I'm from, I tell him. He asks what I'm doing all the way over here (it's a neighboring city) I say I'm coming from the gas station and going to McDonalds a block away (didn't wanna say I just modified my car and I'm testing it out lol) He asks why don't I go to a McDonalds in Allen Park. I say I was in the area. He's going in a circle asking why I was over here though. I'm like dude I was driving around, stopped at a gas station, and then went to this McDonalds since it's on the way home. He realized he has nothing on me and lets me go, says he pulled me over since I looked "suspicious", driving around this late (2am-ish). I can't drive around?

Welp, there's my rant. Cops have been pissing me off. All other times, I've had a valid reason to get pulled over. In Dearborn, I'm obeying all traffic laws and still get pulled over.

Most cops ask if it's my car. I guess a little blonde kid doesn't fit in a 6th gen lol. Is my car considered "high profile"? Is it because I'm young? Or are the cops just being pigs?

Here's some extra info. It's a black coupe, windows were tinted when I bought it. 5% back, 35% rear quarters, 50% front windows, none on windshield. Black wheels. Debadged with black "H" front and back. Blackhoused headlights, no tail light tint. Passenger mirror is all there besides the glass. Didn't have an exhaust for a while since it fell off but never got hassled for that. 6000k hids but only had those in the last time I got pulled over. Those are pretty much the only exterior mods.
I'm just getting tired of being hassled by these damn pigs. They're supposed to be there to protect and help you, not intimidate you and make you fear them.

End rant.

You're driving at night in a totally blacked out car, I would have pulled you over too.

I don't get why it makes you so angry. They were just wastes of time you didn't get in trouble for it.

Plus, if you didn't fear cops you would just brake the law.

you know, usually when someone young says they've been pulled over a bunch of times yet have the time to create such a drama over the entire experience...they're full of shit, totally breaking the law, know this, and looking for pity.

cause uh....yeah, I gotta say it just seems like you're looking for most of these situations to come upon you based on your behavior behind the wheel. You start off talking about how your record was clean, then hint at having what...illegal drugs or a weapon on your person or something? and then go into how by now you don't have a clean record at all, and that doesn't strike you as a reason they might run your plate while following you and then see what you're up to?

perhaps don't be stupid? remove the tint? don't expect cops to not do what they're paid to do? I don't know.

Here's the thought process of the cop:

"Hey look, that car is completely blacked out, with really dark tint... that's odd... Lots of people running drugs tint their cars that dark. What normal person has 5% tint in the back? I'll just run his plates to check [begins to follow]. He was charged with possession before? I bet that time he didn't have much, but since it's 2 am, he's probably running drugs for somebody. I'll pull him over for the mirror or tint, since he probably won't know if I'm allowed to do that or not, then check the car if he lets me, act like I didn't know about his previous charges. Then I'll find all the drugs he was going to sell to children and I'll be a hero!" [Blue lights]

If I was a cop I would do the same thing. Profiling is part of the job. Plus the previous charges adds up to him feeling like pulling you over for something stupid could get more drugs off the street.

Well besides what ever you had possession of, just be thankful at most it was a routine stop. And I have to agree with Almighty, it does sound like attention seeking for your pity. I get pulled over all the time, but I don't make a fuss of it, simply cause I know my rights and exercise them.

It basically sounds like every time you've been pulled over it is because you were asking for it. Illegal tint, no exhaust, broken mirror...that equates to a myriad of tickets in NJ. Plus, I'd imagine that you are a 17 or 18 year driving around at 2am...You do realize that cops profile almost everyone that drives at 2 or 3 am?

If you talk to the cops normally, they'll be nice back.

But if you have an attitude, he will for sure be a b***tch back.

That's what I learned.

I talk to the cop as if I'm making a sale in retail - and cop is always nice =)

Having a modified Honda - I'm asking for it so I accepted the fact after being pulled over countless times - you just gotta be nice, no attitude.

The more attitude, the more tickets lol

It helps if you know your rights as well, as far as your vehicle goes.

I am sure it's different from state to state, but, if you have nothing to hide, then let them do their thing.

You need to consider some repairs before mods and then see how it goes for you.
