Well since I installed my HU this weekend I thought why not start a thread.
Now I bought an install kit on eBay before I heard that I don't need it, but I was able to use 1 piece out of that kit so it wasn't a complete waste.
Here's the pic without the piece I used.

And here's one with the piece used.

Now I am very impressed with myself because this was the 1st HU I installed ever and I think it came out nicely.

Eclipse 8443. One of the most excellent HU's ever IMO.
8v pre-outs x 4
builtin XO.
Individual time allignment for every channel.
Individual PEQ for every channel.
This HU is tasty IMO. I had this in my 300zx and took it out when I got rid of it.

My Radio

As Soon as i get back to the states and hug the wife and the kid the 6th GEN will get love and i will install my ALPINE CDA-9820XM the wife got it for me about 2 years ago Christmas. I will fix the post in a few. i am going to show what the dealer put in when my wife brought the car and what i want to replace as soon as i get home!

to expand a bit on alpine:

Alpine USED to be badass, the DVA-7996 was an amazing HU, and when they were still made in japan, I would have gotten them, but as it stands, the Alpine radio's are horrible. Alpine lost it's SQ roots and is now a company, much like Sony, Kenwood, Eclipse even.

I would not buy any radio out on the market right now except for a mcintosh or OLD Alpine/Eclipse.
