It doesn't really matter, I like to cut before so I don't risk cracking the paint later on. You have to be careful though, because if you cut first you can get a buildup of paint around the edges that may stick to the overspray film on the other side and look messy.

It's an HPI right? They should come with some good instructions on how to paint it.

Get paint made for Lexan (aka polycarbonate plastic), otherwise regular spray paint will dry too brittle and crack and chip. I think Krylon would be a good choice, but I haven't painted a body in years and Krylon wasn't out yet.

I was unaware Krylon made polycarb paint i use pactra but i'm going to be using tamiya paint for this one.

I think it's easier to cut prior to painting like finch said cause you won't scratch the paint. Be sure to sand the cuts too it looks cleaner....

I dunno if its for polycarb, but it is for plastics....

what do i cut with?
i see tamiya and all those company with those fancy cutting tools
what do you guys use?

i used an exacto knife which is pretty much a scalpul(spellcheck) and one of those lol curved scissors from my bathroom lol

Regular scissors and a pair of curved scissors for the wheels wheels. TAKE YOUR TIME.
