power door locks

Hey-

I see conflicting stories on this DIY. Do you have to remove the window and the window guide, or is it as easy as Paypalbid says??

This really pisses me off since the power door locks on my dad's '90 Accord still work fine! Same goes for my 1989 944! Yet my 7 year old '02 has problems.

If it's not a bad DIY, I can give it a try. Otherwise, I'll have to pay a mechanic $200

I'm curious on this also because I'm having the same issues in my sedan. I didn't bother searching before in forum on this topic cause it seem a little to difficult for me to work with.

My drivers side front lock has been doing this same thing for a few months now...I just move the lock/unlock knob on the door handle up and down really fast a few times and the power lock will work for a week or so, until I have to wiggle the knob again. I am not going to bother fixing it until I get ready to sell the car because it doesn't bother me too much...for now.

My driver side door locks fine, it just wont unlock without using the key or manually pulling up on the button. I need to fix it for safety reasons, since I just started parking in a park-and-ride lot in the middle of nowhere. I don't like the idea of fumbling with a key to get into my car.

i have this problem too. but instead of having it in the driver side or the passenger side, its in the driver side but in the back since i have a sedan. i had to replace the window motor when i hit a curb on the fwy when i was rushing someone home. -_- and my lock been like this for 2-3 months now. i plan to fix it soon. just need the diy to do it.
