Preping buffer pads

hey guys i need a quick answer for this one before i buy it. i was wondering do i need anything to prep the pads so it will work more efficient or its not required? i was looking at this product:

I think what they're talking about is not to do use too much product on the pad. Just prime it a little bit, which is true. You don't want to cake it on the pad or soak the pad up.

I have a pad conditioner that I spray on before use that prevents caking.

Came with the DA kit I bought.

wut if i just use the X method justin? will that prevent caking?

It should. To be honest with you the first couple of times I used the buffer, I didn't use the conditioner and I never had any caking issues.

I might finally have time this weekend to do my car.......can't wait......

thx for all ur advice justin. im kinda at a tight budget atm and if some stuff is not needed then it frees up some room for other products that i really need. :thumbsup:

Also....I feel like you would have to use a lot of product to make it cake. With a DA polisher a little goes a long way. Especially with the wax.

When I prep my pads I take whatever product I'm using, put some on, rub it into the pad with my fingers, and let it seep for a few minutes. Then only put a small amount on when going to buff. That way the newly added product isn't going into the pad, but is instead going onto the car! Oh, and remember to grab a clean brush and scrub off excess product after a few sections. That's usually how to prevent yummy cakes :thumbsup:
