When pumping gas it constantly stops if its when I am holding the pump or even set the pump to automatic. Problem seems to be an issue during the cold wintery months. Has anyone else experiences this and what is the resolution to this issue?
Does it happen at all pumps? try squeezing the handle not all the way, does it still do it? has it always done it, or just started too recently?
maybe ur tank is full and you dont know it![]()
I am currently experiecing this issue at multiple gas stations. Ive held and set the auto lever on different settings and it always seems to stop. Also there isnt really a pattern on how much gas is poured in.
needle is on E and the pump has only barely poured in a gallon.
blockage or defect in the filler neck is most likely.
Usually gas pumps problems are mostly user error the gas pump error. The way gas pumps work is they have a small tube which sucks air as you start pumping. As the gas level rises (since you're fueling up) that tube eventually has no more air to suck and hence it shuts off the pump. Depending how you're holding the gas-pump you may be causing the tube to suck gas from what the pump is putting out and hence making it think the tank is full. Or you're pumping to fast and gas is foaming up and again making the pump thing the tank is full.
