putting 93 octane in a 87 octane car?

one of my friends drove my car to get the bumper painted at the school of technology and put gas in it because the light came on, he put 93 in it and its ive always done 87 like it says it wasnt a full take but maybe half,will this hurt it?

No but he definetly wasted his money. People don't seem to understand how gas grades are specific to compression ratios which means one isn't nessicarly better than the other just depends on how high reving your engine is and the compression ratio.
