question about going lower with smaller tire diameter

i was generalizing. Your speedo is probably already 2-3 mph off with stock wheels/tires. generally it's set 2 mph above the speed you're actually going. when you switch to bigger wheels the change will negate that essentially.

i thought the same as you and switched from 225/40 to 215/35. made the wheels look smaller and gave me fender gap i didn't have before. i hate how it looks, it is 100% noticeable IMO that the tires look to small for the car. go 215/40 if you wanna get rid of some rubbing. the 35 series is a rubber band. just my experience with this setup...

Thanks so much for replying to this thread as I really wanted to see what that size looks like on a 6th gen

Call me crazy but I actually like the rubber band look. As for the fender gap, that shouldn't be a problem cause I'll be adjusting the coilover anyway.

Wanted to thank the others as well for their contribution; what I know for sure is I'd like to go down another inch or so. What I'm still trying to figure out is whether that'll be with tucked 215/40/18 or credit card gap 215/35/18
