Would it be ok to run a 55 watt hid with my oem wiring?
I know it will require a lot power more to start up.
Im just worried about light flickering and fuses being blown along with fried wiring.
So should it be ok?

EDIT: I meant would it be ok run a 55 watt hid KIT with oe wiring, ballast included.
I know you have to run hid's with a ballast, im not a mow ron.
Sorry for causing any confusion and anger.

Should always use ballasts with hids. Otherwise, you may end up blowing bulbs or running into other issues. The ballasts help to keep a constant level of power to the bulbs. Without them, they are subject to voltage changes which just wears them out quickly.

I know you have to use a ballast.....thats the whole point in high intensity discharge lighting, I was just asking about 55 watt hid kits opposed to the standard 35 watt kits.
Im just worried about the amount of start up amperage it will take and if it will be too high. I want to know if the 55 watt kit will build up too much heat for my oe wiring.
I guess I should of explained my questioning better.

I made my harness for my 35w kit. It's simple and I would say mine is higher quality than the pre-made ones. 30A fuse is overkill, for my 35W's I used a 5A fuse for each ballast, when they say the start-up current draw is like 7-something. That current spike is only momentary and not long enough to burn the 5A fuse. You want to use the lowest fuse possible for the most protection.

You can't make the harness for $5 though. I'd say $20. The relay itself is $5 and the 16 or 14 ga. wiring is going to be about $8 a spool, plus shrink tubing, solder, flux, etc. if you don't already have it.
