So this may be a noob question, but i'll admit that i'm a noob when it comes
to suspension. any day now i'll be getting my tein ss in the mail.
($500 new from tein,****-ya cyber monday)

Anyway, I know that when you lower your car you are effecting more than just
the ride height. I had a concern that I would need camber kits, but quickly found
by searching that in most cases all that is needed is an alignment.

My question is this:

If I lower my car, say after winter, allow a week for breaking in the
suspension and then get it aligned to zero out the toe,

if I then want to raise my car the following winter would I need to get it
re-aligned?
-> If I don't, then after the winter if I lower it to the same height, the
toe should still be zeroed out right?

Thx for the help guys

Wow, that's a crackhead price for brand new Tein SS.

You won't need any camber kits as these will lower your car a maximum of 3.1" (I've had these before). Your negative camber shouldn't be too bad. Every time you raise or lower the car, you'll need an alignment. Even if you put it back to the same height, the toe alignment still may not be the same.

^that. Some places offer a year of alignments for $30 -$40 or so more than the cost of one alignment, so that may be something to think about.

Thanks for the info!... sucks though, that i'd have to get it aligned each time. although I know you wouldn't know much about snow driving, I'm curious those out there that deal with a lot of snow, do you just drive through at the same low ride height?

thanks Chris I'll keep that in mind. any specific place you remember doing that?

I've been offered that at a few places, I ended up doing it at tire discounters. I think firestone and bob sumerel do it too. If you can, id sign up for it at a place that has an in-ground rack.

I have the same set-up as you, and I am not running any camber kits besides OEM. Mine are all the way down all around, and I've still got about a finger gap on my TL wheels with 215/45's. You'll be fine, just have them zero out the toe, but I think on mine, they got the back wheels back to -2.5 and the front's are OEM spec I believe. Mine was horribly out of alignment though.

I'm not sure about up there, but down here in Florida Firestone offers lifetime alignments for you car for around $160-$180. And you can get an alignment however often you want to. I once got 3 alignments in 2 months without a problem. Would definitely recommend looking into it.

This will be my first year driving lowered in the snow. But I've raised her to no wheel gap and we just had a snow storm here in Utah last night. It's not too bad driving, just need to watch out for those damn icebergs on the road left from other cars lol
