Sorry if this has been covered, I rather hastily searched and didn't find anything, but I was wondering what exactly is required to install an ECU? Specifically, is it a job that is an easy DIY, or is it something you recommend or require professional installation? And if so, how much does that run you?

EDIT: If this HAS in fact been covered, please just link me to the thread if you would be so kind. Thank you!

What kind of ECU?

Stock replacement - unplug and plug in

Standalone - have a professional do it.

Here's a link to the actual chip

And before everybody says that since it's $70, I have a friend on DA who has dyno charts proving their claims of HP, and Torque increase on his car :gride:

So I'm actually looking into it if it really is that legitimate. So I hope that link helps you because I don't know personally if this type of chip is a stock replacement or a standalone lol :lolrun:

thats not an ecu its a chip for the ecu.
u would have to go inside the ecu and hace somebody proffesional solder in that chip, where ever it goes
can you post if this works. sounds like to big of # to be achieved with a chip

Okay. How easy do you think that is? I have a friend that works on cars...or should I really go pay more money to have this put on?

And here's the forum:
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=45280

The guy who posted the second reply said "My chip didn't add any MPG but it did make the car faster by 54WHP, Dyno Proven!"

All I need to do is ask for the charts to make sure. This is just a thought in my mind, not a decision yet. I need visual proof

ALSO I edited my post, I was wrong. He didn't claim gas mileage increase, but yes he claimed HP increase, and in another thread I think he claimed the torque increased as well.
