Question on upgraded brakes

Hey. I wanna get R1 drilled and slotted rotors but being that i'm not low would it still be acceptable? I mean I know I can't have orange wheels without being low so i just wanted to make sure it's okay to have nicer rotors at stock height.

Very true.. maybe i'll revisit it and way out more options. I am kinda of considering lowering springs the more i look online. I am away from home so if i just did it and came back home then whatever. Just wanna do a 1.5" drop or something subtle. But the more i look at the pics i can 100% see why people are saying it.

Considering slotted/drilled rotors are only for looks, I wouldn't suggest it. Also, don't go lowering springs unless you plan on getting aftermarket struts, too.

$600 for some FF Type 1's, and you can easily install them yourself. Considering these rotors would be $200 for a full set, you might want to think about it.

In all honestly I was thinking just slotted for the heat dissipation. the comute to main campus to my campus is one main up hill and non stop down hills. Nursing the tranny its not like i can put it in D3 to downshift so i use the brakes more. The rotors I had on it are already warped pretty bad. For $8 more i can get slotted and drilled. My cost would be less than $200 because I know someone there that discounted them for me.

Only fear with the FF1 is when they are at the highest how much clearance i have. I need to drive this car in the winter as well

If you have the rims to show them off then why not? It is your car, do what you want

The last thing I will do to my car is lower it. Its my daily driver and I drive around huge speed bumps and horrible roads all the time. At least once a week I catch a moment where my oil pan and everything under would have been ripped out if I was lowered.

Dude any coils can get low, and get high.. As much as you need. There are FF1's for sale for like $400 shipped right now.. Grab them!

Also, the question you are asking is simply ridiculous. Is R1 a good brand? Not sure.. I would get reputable rotors that won't warp or crack on you. Also, ones that fit your stock wheels size-wise. Don't even ask what reputable brands are, do some searching... That's what the review forums are for. If you can think of a mediocre brake upgrade, I'm sure someone else already has, please search for it, you will find...
