EDIT: How do you check if your coilovers are in good condition and not seized?

You can check for leaks by looking at them.

Listening as well, to hear if there are any knocking sounds.

If the suspension is sagging on any of the corners is another way to tell there is a problem.

You would have to get the car on a lift to see if the collars move freely, or jack it up, but that is more work.

Well the right way would possible be to take them off the car.

While they're still in the car all you can do is inspect them for oil leaks, spray the adjusting rings down with some pb blaster on both sides and let them sit, spray them down with some water (high pressure would help) and move/adjust the locking collars and re-lube them.

You can jack up your car on all corners to make the above easier and clean/check the coils more thoroughly.

If you take them off the car you can further clean them, and take the springs off and compress the damper while in its softest setting(if applicable). It should come back up rather quickly on its softest setting and come back up slowly in the stiffest setting. You shouldnt feel any scratching/grinding as you push down on the damper and the shaft should be free of scratches/nicks.

If one damper doesnt come back up...you know you've got issues.

Not a bad price! Looks very clean too. Did they say if it was accident-free?

he replied and he said $9700 OBO without the chrome rims. I think the car was driven in the winter too...i mean why would he have winter tires on the stockies?

11,200 - 3000 = 8200. Basing it off of the price the owner said the rims were, so I think there is some room for negotiating there if you are seriously interested.

Looks like it is in great shape though, and probably worth the drive to go and check it out.
