I know this must be covered like crazy, but search won't find it for me...

How do I get the rear speakers out? Mainly, it's not so much getting the speakers out, as how to remove the grille and get to the cables and screws. Do I have to flip the seat down, or do I just pry the grille straight out? I also read about older Accords, you had to get screws that were only accessible from the trunk. Is this the case?

Got it done! There were two screws for each speaker under the trunk. Just put my 6x9s in and they fit awesome (even though Crutchfield said they don't fit...). Took me 1.5 hours though, since I didn't have a socket wrench. I ended up doing half rotations for each of the 8 bolts at a time... X_X

But yeah, I finished it and I'm proud of me! Now, I just gotta do the fronts. :ownedrun:

I disagree. I used to use a 4-way in my previous car (infinity biggass one) and i use the same speakers in my accord with a basic 50watt alpine headunit and the new speakers still sound great...

And yeah screwing those suckers in is definitely a bitch.

and you would be incorrect to disagree.

do you believe the itty bitty amp inside the headunit is really providing 50 watts 4 ways?

that 50 watts is peak, but music is spaces filled with dips and hills like a roller coaster. look at the rms...its maybe 20 rms per channel. and add to that: most are measured at 14.4v instead of a more realistic ~12.5.

rockford got in **** for doing that...purposely rating their amps at higher voltages for big numbers. now cea 2006 is in place, and mfr's tend to comply.

I never said the channels were receiving 50 watts. i think its 20rms. The fact is they sound excellent maxed out with the alpine headunit.... And I can't even stand music that loud and im young. the 420watt Infinity amp i had didn't make all that much different to teh 6x9 Kappas and 6.5" Polks I have. Yes it sounded better. Was it worth it? Depends on who cares.

if you have infinity Kappa perfect door speakers you wont need an amp, because they come with a built in crossover, if you do anything get a multi channel amp run your 2 rear speakers to it along with whatever sub you are using, this set up is killer, my car is loud and crystal clear no distortion. :)

really? are people this lazy/poor to run a 5 channel or a 4 channel + bridged/mono amp? i thought i was cheap :eh:

i got my MA amp for $150 like 6 years ago ($450 msrp). and i got my eclipse 2 years ago when i installed the infinitys...for about $40 (retail of $200).

lol less than $200 in amps for 300x1 and 60x2 power :lawl:
