worked for me too. i sat on it while pulling out the strut.

Yeah very easy method without having to compress the spring or anything like that.

I just used my retard strength to push around until I got it out. I used a long steel screwdriver and just pried it out along with a rubber mallot. Probably not the most sophisticated method but it worked.
