ohhhh what a fun thread :lawl:

well...heres another reason not to do it.

with AWD DSMs, you can make them RWD. (you should have seen the look on this dudes face when the ecplise was drifting right in front of his civic! :lawl: ) so later on that day...on the drag strip...my buddy didnt even really launch the car but broke an axle INSIDE the rear diff. it was only a 3 bolt but still...

the moral of the story: just because its AWD doesnt mean you can just go and take out the CV axles in front and plug the transfer case and SHAZAM!!1 RWD...not that simple :coffee:

ive had AWD with my turbo for 3 years now. not many people know, but when i did teh 5spd swap, i got a jdm adapter plate for the STI previous gen AWD system and tranny. i had to switch my motor round 90 degrees, but luckily, i had my friend make some solid mounts for me. the car idles rough, and has a lotta vibrations, but my lord, when it pulls, its ridic.

i break loose on both wheels in 1st-3rd, and i have a switch to change from FWD to AWD to RWD, which makes it great for all the snow i drive in living in atlanta. man, im so glad i spent the 50,000 to do this mod. way more fun than an actual STI, even if i coulda got a brand new one for that price plus mods.

damn so it seems that its pretty tough job.. well it sounds great to me, I dont know where to get started.. I have a friend who will be able to do it. I just need to know exactly what parts to modify. I understand the exhaust will have to have a custom "retubing". Im only going for something particularly crazy thats why I want this mod. Sure turbo, nitrous are awesome but I need RWD to make this car a true custom. I like all the input you guys have given, so much information. Now only a plan is in order. Sure its a list, but judging by the size of the junk yard parts shouldnt be a problem.

I thought you guys knew that i have one of the RWD straight from factory out of 12 made.
That is why i have a staggered setup on my rims. I also have the 5 cyl. engine with super vtec optoinal juice maker attachment designed by Jack Lalanne. :lawl:

rwd accord lol... sigh im all for crazy dreams and pioneers, but seriously you gotta be an idiot to pursue this unless your shi*ting money outta your *** to the point where you cant spend it fast enough

turn your driver's seat around and relocate your steering wheel and throw it in reverse and bam... you got yourself a rwd accord.... yeah you might only have one gear and your reverse lights will become your headlights but at the end of the day, you'll have what you want

ha ha wtf

yeah this is a topic amongst all honda/acura owners besides nsx and s2k(and AWD Models/platforms) my buddy has a eg and currently undertaking this very task for the past 5/6 years and butt loads of cash and aiming for 650 whp!! from what he has updated me with its about 95% complete(dyno tuning stages), but as far as using a crv trans that he IS using but many i have talked to say this is his Achilles heel but he is using a datsun 510 rear end phatom grip diff, custom chromoly axels and is getting the trans cryo-treated. From what i've heard/read a crv trans and rear end is good for 250hp max if lucky after that total destruction to that trans and or axels so if you want to do this to your accord(has popped in my head a couple of times) i'd prolly go with a complete s2k swap instead but i don't have that kind of cash laying around so a dream it shall remain for all else GOOD F-ing LUCK
