Road trip for spring break

hey guys, I live in Richmond , Virginia and I plan to drive to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend for my spring break vacation. Mapquest estimates 533 miles, and about an 8 hour drive. Is anyone familiar with driving on i-85?

Just wanted to see if there is anything I should know about ( cops, speed traps, lack of gas stations, etc). Thanks guys!

i wouldn't know, but u should:1

1. check tire pressure (including ur spare tire)
2. check all fluids
3. make sure u have a good supply of snacks and bottled starbucks coffee in the car lol
4. make sure u take care of all the mapping and directions and NOT a girl... i've had expereinces with girls and maps, and they do not go well together

thanks guys. Unfortunately, its a double date with my gf, her roommate and bf, so we'll have two girls and two guys in the car. Unfortunately, the girls do not know how to drive stick, so if we get any luck out of this, they'll be sleeping the whole time while the men navigate the unfriendly skies =P

btw, we're going to ga to visit that aquarium. I know its probably the most stupid thing you've ever heard, but we figured we'd atleast go once and never go again haha.

I've been down the SC part of I-85 quite a few times. It's not too bad, but I'm sure that it will get worse once you get closer to Atlanta. It should still be fun, none the less.
