Hey guys, I've been looking at getting new wheels lately(Rota IK-F). I wanted to downsize to 17 inch and possibly go wider to allow me to run wider tires since I'll be boosting again sometime this year. So my question is would a 17x8 with +44 offset and 235/40/17 tires fit on my 98 sedan? I do not want to run ridiculous amounts of negative camber and I don't want to stretch tires since the whole point of this is to run 235's to increase traction. However I can roll my fenders and possibly pull them. Also I can raise or lower the ride height if needed. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I think 235 would rub if you're planning to slam your car.

225 would be a better bet. Anyway, you'll be fine with a simple roll though.

I'm okay with having a finger gap so it doesnt have to be tucking tire or anything like that. I know the 235's would be close but I'd like to see if anyone else on the forum had this setup before I spend the $ and have them not fit.

get rota ik-r. you'll regret not getting some 17x9 +25 or 17x9 +35 offset down the road.

I dont see a 17x9 fitting on my car especially since I dont want to be hella flush and have unnecessary amounts of negative camber and stretch 205's over a 9 inch rim because that would defeat the purpose of getting a wider rim.

225 all around should be fine. get 17x9 +25 for the rear and 17x9+35 pull the back fenders out more. -3 camber front should be positive. you should be set

The whole point is to run 235's on an 17x8 +44 I just want to know if it will fit. As I said earlier I dont want to be hella flush thats not what I'm going for.

Okay well if you think the 235's are too wide for the 8 inch wheel the IK-F's come in 8.5 also but I didnt think those would fit unless I had a lot of nagative camber.

they will fit man. depends on your offset. 30 or more should be good in the rear and front. and youll rub with 235 tires so you ether have to go higher in the height or your car or smaller tires like 225 or 215 and thats not alot of sketch on 8.5 wide rims

is that extra 10mm between 225 and 235 really gonna give u noticeably better traction?
