I know i'm not the only one who's thought about it, there's already a bit of a tunnel in the cg chassis, obviously would need much chassis mods but if you got an s2k drivetrain and the front and rear subframes, it wouldnt be impossible and with some engineering knowledge it might go smoothly.

here's a crazy civic s2k build, partially complete
s2k swap in civic

different approach which looks easier, using stock frames but keeping stock engine and horizontal with crv tranny and drive shaft, no tunnel additions just using the exhaust tunnel, i would rather fit an s2k diff though.

crv/h22 prelude rwd swap

seen several preludes and civics/crxs with a fwd setup in the backseat or trunk but im not a fan of that.

this is Just a discussion of ideas and successes thread, but i would totally consider doing this in the near future if i get a different dd or find a cheap CG shell. seen a cg2 with bad tranny for $500, s2k drivetrain is like 3-5k but i dont know about the crv alternative, still might come out cheaper than a real s2k but with a backseat and roof :naughtyrun:
if somebody figures out a good way to do the s2k option, the obvious next step would be drop a j series in it :lawl: seen some crazy s2ks with j swaps, itd be a good way to fall in love with your cg again hahah

thoughts or ideas?

lol i figured you'd say that, i did search and only really found one rwd thread, and everybody was replying 'no' or 'too much work, buy an s2k'. yeah i saw several awd threads from a while back but now we've had plenty of people complete projects in chassis' similar to the cg

Haha it’s not my intention to completely shell the idea. It would be awesome, and in one form or another it could be done. But until someone actually tries it (buys a junked car and an AWD/RWD drivetrain, and has a few hands working on it – one of whom who has deep pockets and/or otherworldly custom fab skills and the resources to do it), it can only go so far on a discussion level. There is so much that would have to be physically performed to actually verify if things could work, that unless someone is toying with all the elements that go into it in a garage somewhere, it’s very difficult to speculate on.

I wish Honda would offer the CrossTour drivetrain or similar in the Accord. Unless it’s not full on AWD, I don’t know much about the CrossTour. An AWD 9thgen Accord sedan could quite possibly be a contender when choosing a new car. For me anyway. A RWD Accord straight from Honda would be sweet, but we all know that will never happen.

yeah it would be a lot of work, and im not sure if that guy ever finished the civic.
i've been researching more and it seems possible to swap our rear knuckles with s2k knuckles with some modification, would have to chop up the upper suspension mounts. looking at the accord frame today, im curious if the s2k rear subframe could fit as its not very big..

it'll be cheaper to buy a 240sx and do an accord front and rear conversion :troll3:

they did an integra with s2k rwd swap already, and now just just boosted it,

so anything possible with $$ and knowledge

and there is a rwd drag 6thgen coupe out there too, but i think they just use 6thgen shell and everything else isn't

S2000's are now doing some J32 swaps and removing their F20/22's, but then again, LS1/2JZ would be a better option if you want speed.

I would personally rather see a 2JZ in the CG chassis over the F20/22C if someone had the skills or money to make it work.
