You stripped it well, you don't want your insurance company to get mad. Taking off valueable oem parts can get you in trouble. That's what there are auto recyclers.
Good luck on the search. I'd consider selling my car but I'm on the opposite side of the country, and it would probably be for more than you wanted to pay.
