Hell if I care. Yea its illegal but most of the time you're reversing its on private property so guess what!, cop can't do anything if he should see it. Its also illegal for him to see me do it on private property, pull me over on public road for the sole reason he saw it and try to ticket me.

Yeah, the cops down here don't really care about legal/illegal stuff on your car.

Columbus, GA is in west central GA about an hour SW of ATL. Its not a very big city, I think there's maybe 190K people here. Ft. Benning, one of the largest military bases in the US is next to us. And one of our little league teams won the little league world series this year.

yea, its illegal not to have reverse lights, but ive heard of people having side markers, white ones, by the license plate on the sides and hooking those up as reverse lights. mini coopers only have 1, so maybe you could hook up just a single white LED above the license plate, in the center and thatd work, and look sick too. heres one from the johnson park meet last year:

if i had a coupe, one of the first things i would do would be to shave the trunk, i think it makes the rear look alot better

once again, you're such a smartass ;) hahah

lol, greg, I was thinking about where I saw that shaved trunk... Then it finally popped in my head and remembered you had one.

But anyways back on topic.. I love how it looks man, its so clean on the coupes. And with the CF its just so nice to look at. IMO, makes the car look 100% better.

Federal requirements only require 1 reverse light. Does have to be white, but yea... so Sketch is right. Also, to my knowledge it doesn't have any real requirements on output level, but I hadn't looked at that, so you may still be illegal if it isn't bright enough.

i was just thinking. you know those light up bolt that auto stores usally sell? theyre like bolts with LEDs in the tips..........maybe if someone shaves their trunk, they get get a white set of those and hook them up. this way theirs no out of place, or other lights, on the rear of the car, and would give a pretty close to OEM kinda look. idk, just thinking.

Anyone done this but kept the emblems? I don't dislike the stock lights but they arn't my favorite. But shaved looks too plan, too shaved. Just looks a bit out of place i guess.

I haven't heard of anyone local who kept the emblems. Most of the time when someone shaves something off their car, they pretty much go all the way because its easier to fill the little holes the emblems leave when you shave the trunk light. Anyways, you can always glue the emblems back on if you don't like the "plain" look.
