I have searched previously about this specifically and have not found much... I am just curious if "manually shifting" your auto transmission is harmful, and I'm not talking about downshifting at high RPMs or anything. I guess to get more out of your gears without necessarily giving more gas...
Thanks for your input...

what do you mean by manually shifting gears in an auto:thinking:

Like if your driving in D4, your at a low rpm such as 2000rpm and you wanna get more traction so you grab the shifter and downshift to D3 to force it to go into 3rd gears.

Do not manually shift your automatic. Our automatics are so unstable and by manually shifting your automatic all you are doing is overheating the transmission which will cause early transmission failure. /thread

Yeah, I was thinking that it couldn't be good for the transmission... It would make sense that it would tend to make it heat up as well.
