Two bars wont do **** except cause you to scrape more often as you are adding material down there to scrape with. It'll cause you to seem more low than you are, thus creating an illusion that your car is lower than it appears. But if you want to seem like a fake ricer then by all means, do it!

If you want to protect your oil pan properly, get some 1/8" or even 1/4" thick diamond plated sheets and have them plasma cut to fit properly underneath your frame. I still have a cad drawing somewhere on my computer if you wanted to give to someone to fab for you, but two pieces of metal wont do **** for you.

So are these "sheets" you're talking about like unbendable or something? Otherwise how would that be a substitute for metal bars in that situation? I'm not talking about "scraping", I'm talking about highway bridges, different levels of asphalt, big bumps - at highway speeds.

No, they're not necessarily unbendable. However, depending on what context you're applying to the situation, nothing is really "unbendable" (at least when were talking about alloys and whatnot.) When you're driving, you shouldn't, now key word here is the "shouldn't", be hitting any bumps that warrant anything thicker than 1/4", especially if you're going with the diamond plated aluminum. A properly fabricated and mounted skid plate should be more than enough to protect your oil pan against uneven asphalt, debris, speed bumps, etc. I have never encountered any major bumps on the freeway that made me **** my pants and fear for my oil pan .. It's mainly rocks, uneven asphalt, the occasional manhole covering that's oddly raised, and of course driveway entrances and speed bumps. Oh, also, the diamond plated aluminum is extremely rigid, and can put up with a whole lot. It's not unbendable, but it's pretty close.

i wanted a metal bar because the protect the pan at the lump by the drain plug.
i sheet of metal would help with scraping but what happens when u hit a dip? the sheet will bend n the pan that will cause to crack.

my oil pan oil cracks at the same spot. everytime.:kenny:

I think I understand what you're saying. If you're going up a steep driveway it'll hit the metal bars instead of the oil pan or frame.
But what happens if you run over a rock or something and it goes right in between the bars and hits your pan?

Hook me up with that cad if you can find it please!
