Re: Snip33r: 2K1 Honda Accord EX Coupe

Due to some reasons I have to sell my 2001 Honda Accord few years ago but I am back with 2000 Honda Accord EXL 5spd with 100K Miles (162K km). Couldn't say no to this one because of its low millage, condition and price. Before me the car belongs to old couple who bought it brand new and maintained it through local Honda dealer.
I bought it for $1500 with blown clutch, body has some dings and minor rust starting on its rear wheel, paint has swirls and few scratches. Also interior need some cleaning, overall not in a bad shape of its age.
So far clutch is replaced, I cleaned the car thoroughly in and out. Replace the steering wheel with S2K AP1 wheel , HVAC unit and power windows switches are replaced with 01-02 accord, replace all the interior light into LED.

FUTURE PLAN:
I have all my old parts saved from my old car which will go to this car down the road.

WOULD LIKE TO THANKS TO ALL THE MEMBERS WHO HELPLED ME AND LOOKING FORWARD FOR MORE HELP TOO

Hello everyone
Forums are dead but i am still lurking here, not a fan of facebook and IG. i owned a 6th gen in 5 speed but due to life circumstances i had to sell it and one of them got stolen. now after along a time i am able to find one again with very low millage, no rust and my favorite color in Firepepper Pearl (R507P). which i am planning to drive from WA to Canada (ON). it will be a long drive but i am hoping to enjoy this trip. if anyone have any suggestion to prepare myself or car to do that drive, i will be very thankful to them. will post pictures when i have car in procession and looking forward to mod it as i still have all the OG parts from my old car. which include OEM lip kit, OEM fogs, Apexi WS2 catback, S2K retro and rear led tail and i am sure other stuff as well.

Sounds like a fun venture, and pretty cool you kept all those OG parts to put on another car. Hopefully the seller has kept up with maintenance and the car has reasonably fresh oil/trans fluid/tires, etc for such a trip.

I hope to see updates here with the car being modded. :)

After putting 4500 km (2796 miles), i made to home (Ontario, Canada). the car performed well, had no issue except no working AC but R134 can from Walmart did a job. the seller did a fresh oil change and the car didn't burn any oil, i am happy to see it. USA export and Canada import process went smooth as well. The car is in good shape, no rust and have only 67,500 km (42000 miles) but a lot of dings, i have to spend some $$ to have those taken out.
I also need help/information from you guys about the millage LCD screen, the car is actually Canadian vehicle, which was imported to USA in 2015 and i imported back to Canada. the dealer at the time change the millage LCD to read miles from km. any of you have any idea if it can be change back to km from dealer through their scanner or they have any other way, also the speed reader is in miles/hr which i think can be change easily by getting a km/hr one from any junkyard car.

Congrats on getting back to the CG game. Sounds like the car is gonna get some love there with your preserved parts. I hope you are not affected by the terrible storm and flood happened recently at your place tho.

Thanks, i am safe. there is a flooding in the east (Toronto) i am on the west of Toronto, close to Oakville/Mississauga. So far the car is going to stay stock and getting quotation to have dings removed and have dry ice cleaning and rust protection done to keep it that way, even i am not going to drive it in winter.
Also looking if there is a way to change the speedometer gauge face in km/hr and LCD screen reads in km instead of miles. seems like when car was imported in 2015 from Canada to USA, the dealer change those two only things, as parking brake reads as brake symbol not a word BRAKE and have DRL in the cluster as well, also car do have heated side mirrors (only Canadian model get those). if you have any info about it please do share about changing those two things

You have to swap the cluster. When it was imported the previous owner probably had to buy a brand new cluster from the dealer and they programmed in the KM to mile conversion on the LCD. Cost effective way to do it now would be buy a used cluster with the km closest to what you have now and swap it in. Only issue is navigating the 4cyl clusters vs the 6cyl (4cyls are missing TCS light)
