once the power came back on a little after 10am (went out at 3), it was time to get the day going.
i think we ended up with around 14" just estimating.
lots of tree branches got broken from all the weight. the issue was that the initial snow was really light and fluffy and sort of melted...creating a glue, basically, for the rest of the snow to stick to.
between shoveling 20" of plowed snow (100% heavy...about 40lbs per shovel full) i took a walk in my yard.
i am fully aware of how much these pics suck. i was in Av and AF mode, trying to keep the lens dry. if you've never shot in snow...it's impossible. between exposure and white balance...its the most difficult environment IMO.
this tree lost about 1/3 of its branches...just snapped like nothin
the light pole is about 6 feet, 8 inches tall. the real problem is the amount and weight of snow on the roof...
